The New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers meet in what figures to be a lopsided Thursday Night Football matchup.
The pregame narrative: New York pulled off its largest comeback in franchise history last weekend with a 31-28 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. But with no Saquon Barkley, offence should be hard to come by for the G-Men. We're backing San Francisco to score first and win at a great number.

Giants vs. 49ers best bet
Best Bet: 49ers to score first and win (-125)
All signs point to this game being a rout. As of Tuesday morning, the Niners are 10.5-point favourites with heavily juiced -560 moneyline odds. So we're honestly a little surprised that we can get San Francisco to score first and win at -125.
Here's a question for the readers: How many first-half points do the Giants have this season?
Giants vs. 49ers boosts Sept. 21 | Odds | Bet now ⬇️ |
Giants to score 3 points or fewer - 1st half | +200 (was +180) | Add to betslip |
49ers -13.5 & McCaffrey to rush for 100+ yards | +440 (was +400) | Add to betslip |
The answer to that is zero. New York was shut out in its season opener against the Dallas Cowboys and went into halftime in Week 2 down 20-0. The comeback was impressive but Arizona owned the second-worst scoring defence (26.4) in football last season and is tanking.
There are some glaring problems with the Giants' offence that will only be amplified with Barkley sidelined. The Niners' defence is no joke, either, and Daniel Jones will have to deal with a unit which ranked first in scoring defence (16.3) and yards allowed (300.6) last season.

There's a bit of coin toss luck at play here but even if New York gets the ball first, we're doubtful it'll be able to do anything with that possession. The Giants have scored in zero of their 12 first-half drives so far with five turnovers on downs.
San Francisco has scored a touchdown on each of its opening drives this season.
Key stat: New York's opponents have scored first in 15 of its last 19 games (78.9%).
