Wyndham Championship long shot picks

Best bet: Long (+6,000)

Long has quietly been one of the most consistent players on tour over the past four months and we like that consistency to be rewarded with a win this week.

The 34-year-old has finished 25th or better in each of his last four starts and has only missed two individual stroke-play cuts since March 20.

We especially like his chances at Sedgefield Country Club, a course which should benefit his playing style.

Long hits 64.93% of all fairways, making him one of the more accurate drivers on tour. Historically, this skill has translated to success at the Wyndham Championship.

In addition to his steady driver, Long is an elite putter. He has 19th-best strokes gained: putting on tour this season (+0.508) and a respectable 70.30 scoring average.

He missed the cut at this venue last year but we're not going to put much stock into that, considering he's completely reshaped his game since then.

Key stat: Long makes 90.21% of all puts within 10 feet, the sixth-best rate on tour.

Quick picks

Reavie (+8,000): If we're talking about accurate drivers, there are few better than Reavie. The 40-year-old hits 71.56% of fairways in regulation, the third-best mark on tour and he's been playing some solid golf as of late.

Reavie won the Barracuda Championship three weeks ago and posted a T8 at the Travelers Championship in June. With the veteran in strong form, we like him to contend at 80-to-1.

Hardy (+9,000): Hardy's driving game is more catered to distance than accuracy and although he's coming off a missed cut, we like his chances this week.

The 26-year-old has been on fire since finishing runner-up at the NV5 Invitational in May, with three top-15 finishes including a T14 at the U.S. Open.

Hardy hits 68.91% of greens in regulation (24th best) and is 30th in strokes gained: off the tee this season (+0.408).
