MLB parlay picks Sept. 19: Bet on Yankees' LeMahieu to deliver

A hearty day of MLB action supplies us with enough fodder for a three-leg parlay.

The pregame narrative: DJ LeMahieu and Jose Abreu enter Tuesday night with strong track records against the pitcher they'll be facing, making both quality options for our parlay. The San Diego Padres, meanwhile, are a nice pick to win with ace Blake Snell taking the bump.

MLB parlay picks

Parlay: LeMahieu over 0.5 hits + Abreu over 0.5 hits + Padres moneyline (+172)

LeMahieu over 0.5 hits (-240): LeMahieu's best years appear to be in his rearview, but he's finishing the 2023 season on a strong note.

The New York Yankees star is batting an uninspiring .244 this year, almost a full 50 points below his career mark (.293).

He has been much better over the second half of his campaign, though, batting a respectable .279 since the All-Star Game. LeMahieu has a hit in each of his last five games.

He battles Toronto Blue Jays starter Yusei Kikuchi and that's a matchup he's done well in. LeMahieu is 7-for-21 with a pair of doubles.

Other parlay picks

Abreu over 0.5 hits (-240): Abreu finds himself in a similar position as LeMahieu.

The first baseman is having a down season, batting .235 versus a career mark of .287. He has put up better numbers as of late, however, posting a .270 average across his last 10 outings.

Abreu has been very successful against the pitcher he'll see on Tuesday, Baltimore Orioles starter Kyle Gibson. He's 11-for-40 with a pair of doubles and four long balls against the righty.

Gibson isn't having a great year, either, pairing a 4.98 ERA with a 4.13 FIP. He's been even worse as of late, earning a 6.38 ERA and a 5.27 FIP in seven starts since the beginning of August.

Padres moneyline (-286): Thirdly, we're backing the NL Cy Young favourite to help San Diego beat the lowly Colorado Rockies.

Snell pairs a sterling 2.43 ERA with a solid 3.53 FIP, ranking first in MLB in the former. His numbers since the beginning of June are otherworldly as he owns a 1.38 ERA and 2.77 FIP in 19 appearances and his team is 14-5 during this stretch.

Lefties have mystified the Rockies this year as they have the second-worst OPS in MLB (.678) against southpaws.

Colorado counters with Ryan Feltner and he's not being confused with an NL Cy Young contender. He carries a 5.86 ERA and 4.33 FIP into Tuesday's contest and has allowed four earned runs in each of his last two outings.
