Parity is the name of the game in the NFL, and the betting odds suggest we'll see that in at least two of the NFC's divisions.

The latest: The San Francisco 49ers appear to be a cut above the competition in the NFC West, and the same might be true of the Philadelphia Eagles in the East. But the North and the South are wide open entering Week 4 of the season.

We'll examine each team's chances of bringing home a divisional title and provide a quick recap of where they're at.

Let's get started with the NFC East, a division Jalen Hurts and the 3-0 Eagles won in 2022.

Philadelphia Eagles-177
Dallas Cowboys+170
Washington Commanders+1,700
New York Giants+3,300

NFL odds as of 3:50 p.m. on 09/26/2023.

Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles took home a pair of one-score wins to start the year, but they were a little more convincing with their road victory on Monday Night Football in Week 3. Running back D'Andre Swift looks like a great complement to a Hurts-led offence that features a pair of dazzling WRs in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

Dallas Cowboys: Uh ... who saw that coming? Dallas trailed the entire way in a 28-16 loss to lowly Arizona this past Sunday despite having more yards, more first downs and a greater time of possession. The Cowboys look to get back on track as hosts of the Patriots in Week 4.

Washington Commanders: Washington's 2-0 start met an abrupt end against the Bills, who held the home team to just a field goal. It was a wake-up call that maybe Sam Howell isn't a saviour for this team. Howell threw four interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown.

New York Giants: What did you think was gonna happen when the Giants faced the 49ers? On the road and without Saquon Barkley, New York was outgained by nearly 300 yards in a 30-12 loss. At 1-3, the G-Men desperately need to regroup on Monday Night Football against the Seahawks.

TeamBetting odds
Detroit Lions-112
Green Bay Packers+160
Minnesota Vikings+550
Chicago Bears+2,500

NFL odds as of 3:50 p.m. on 09/26/2023.

Detroit Lions: Detroit earned a solid, 20-6 win over the Falcons in Week 3 to move to 2-1 on the year. The lone blemish was an overtime loss to the Seahawks in the Lions' home opener. If Detroit's defence can prove it's not the doormat it was a year ago, winning this division will be a lot simpler.

Green Bay Packers: The Jordan Love era is off to a good start, as the Packers completed a 17-point comeback in their home opener to move to 2-1. Up next is a home date with the Lions to determine the division leader through four weeks.

Minnesota Vikings: Those doubting the Vikings were vindicated in Weeks 1, 2 and 3. They lost all three games and are already in the danger zone to fall short of a playoff berth, let alone a division title. A non-existent rush attack and league-high nine turnovers are the main culprits.

Chicago Bears: Is it too early to be dreaming of Caleb Williams in a Bears jersey? Chicago has two firsts (its own and Carolina's), and the winless franchise already looks completely lost on both sides of the ball.

TeamBetting odds
New Orleans Saints+130
Atlanta Falcons+140
Tampa Bay Buccaneers+400
Carolina Panthers+2,800

NFL odds as of 3:50 p.m. on 09/26/2023.

New Orleans Saints: New Orleans was 15 minutes shy of a 3-0 start, but the team is still tied for the division lead despite a road collapse against Green Bay. Alvin Kamara's suspension is over, which is great timing considering that quarterback Derek Carr will likely miss at least one week with a shoulder injury.

Atlanta Falcons: Atlanta has some exciting weapons on offence, but can Desmond Ridder lead the group to a division title? He didn't look the part in the Falcons' six-point showing last week in Detroit, but there's a lot of football left to play.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OK, so the Bucs are no longer perfect under Baker Mayfield. That was bound to happen. But a loss against the defending NFC champion Eagles can be forgotten if Tampa can pull off a win in New Orleans this week.

Carolina Panthers: Bryce Young's career hasn't gotten off to a great start. The rookie is last in the league in terms of yards per attempt (4.2), and he missed last week with an ankle injury. Carolina lost without him and is still looking for that elusive first win of the season.

NFC West odds

TeamBetting odds
San Francisco 49ers-715
Seattle Seahawks+600
Los Angeles Rams+1,700
Arizona Cardinals+5,000

NFL odds as of 3:50 p.m. on 09/26/2023.

San Francisco 49ers: The fact that the Niners have -715 juice to win the division through three weeks is a way to demonstrate that they aren't just winning — they're dominating. Behind NFL leading rusher Christian McCaffrey (117.7 yards/game) and a defence that already has five interceptions, it's smooth sailing in San Fran right now.

Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks put their rough, season-opening loss to the Rams behind them with a thrilling, 37-31 road win in overtime against Detroit. And they followed that up with a 10-point victory against Carolina. Seattle went 0-2 against San Francisco last year, though, and the NFC West leaders will be very tough to topple.

Los Angeles Rams: Los Angeles is 1-2 after a road win against the Seahawks, a home loss to the 49ers and a road loss to Cincinnati. The offence looked lost for most of the second half against the Bengals, and Matthew Stafford had very little time to throw. Maybe a Cooper Kupp-Puka Nacua tandem can lift this team into relevancy when the former is healthy again.

Arizona Cardinals: No NFC team has worse odds to win their division than the Cardinals, even though Arizona stunned Dallas as a double-digit underdog. That should give you some indication of the Cardinals' chances in this futures market in 2023.
