AFC and NFC previews

7 bets for the AFC: Kansas City suffered a loss on opening night but is the favourite to win the conference and its division. Psihogios, however, is finding value elsewhere. Read why he's fading the Chiefs in favour of the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC West.

8 bets for the NFC: Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks shocked football fans in 2022, but Perri isn't doubting the team in 2023. He's picking Seattle to win its division and listing the squad as one to watch in the NFC.

AFC division odds: The NFL is known for its parity, but the odds don't forecast much change in the AFC. All four division winners from 2022 are expected to repeat in 2023.

NFC division odds: The odds are suggesting some change in the NFC. Only two of the four division winners are the favourites to run it back, with one holding the worst odds to win its division.

Futures odds

Super Bowl: The Chiefs (+600) are the favourites to repeat but no team has won consecutive titles since the New England Patriots (2004-05). Psihogios shouts out a pair of teams further down the board.

NFL MVP: Patrick Mahomes (+600) is the favourite to win MVP and one has to assume he'll be in the mix again. Josh Allen and Trevor Lawrence, however, also have strong cases to win the award.

NFL win total: Are you going over or under? Check out the team totals for all 32 squads and make your picks.

First NFL coach to leave: No coach wants to hold this distinction, but it's almost inevitable that someone will. Josh McDaniels (+500) is the odds-on choice, but Perri is eyeing Kevin Stefanski (+1,500).

NFL betting preview: Best player bets

QB bets: Tua Tagovailoa is great when he's on the field, but he carries some serious injury risk. Psihogios is looking to fade the Miami Dolphins QB, plus four others.

RB bets: Where's the love for running backs? Psihogios is giving Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley their due respect, betting on both to win Offensive Player of the Year.

WR bets: CeeDee Lamb is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and Psihogios made it a priority to spotlight the Dallas Cowboys star as a value pick to win Offensive Player of the Year at 50-to-1.

Fields for MVP: Justin Fields has a legitimate WR1 at his disposal and rushing skills only matched by a select few. Horrobin likes the value on Fields (+2,200) to win MVP.

Lawrence for MVP: A generational QB prospect enters his second season with a Super-Bowl winning head coach and his first with new No. 1 wide receiver Calvin Ridley. Psihogios says to expect fireworks.

McCaffrey for MVP: Quarterbacks have won 14 of the last 15 MVPs. Perri dishes on why CMC (+8,000) is poised to break that trend in 2023.

Team bets

1 pick for every NFL team: No matter the team, no matter the market, we have you covered. The NorthStar Bets staff weighs in and gives out one bet for each of the NFL's 32 teams.

Best Super Bowl bets: From top contenders to dark horses, Horrobin, Perri and Psihogios each give out three teams they're picking to win the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl long shots: Everybody loves a good underdog story. Horrobin bangs the table for two long shots — the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans.

NFL fades: Unders aren't always a popular pick, but they cash. Perri lists five futures bets to take the under on this upcoming season, including two centred around the New England Patriots.

Bills bets: From Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs to the team itself, Psihogios breaks down Buffalo's prospects for this upcoming season and shares his top picks.

Fade the Jets: No team won the offseason quite like the New York Jets, but Horrobin doesn't expect that to translate to many wins. See why he's picking the Jets to miss the playoffs at plus-money odds.
