Winning an NFL division means locking in a home playoff game. Let's see who's primed to do that.

The latest: The Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans are heavy favourites to win the AFC West and South, respectively. But the other divisions figure to be competitive, including the AFC North, which boasts four potential playoff teams.

Check out the latest NFL division winner odds for the 2024-25 season below.

NFL division winner odds

AFC East

  • The Buffalo Bills have won the division four straight times, picking up 11-plus wins in each of those seasons.
  • Buffalo throttled the Miami Dolphins 31-10 on Thursday Night Football in Week 2. Tua Tagovailoa suffered a head injury and figures to be out for the foreseeable future. Miami's odds have tanked with Skylar Thompson now under centre.
  • Aaron Rodgers' New York Jets career is finally off and running. The veteran QB played well in his season-opener against the 49ers and picked up his first win the following week against the Tennessee Titans.

AFC North

  • The Baltimore Ravens won the most games in football last year but are 0-2 after losing to the Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders. Derrick Henry joins a loaded offence led by the reigning MVP, Lamar Jackson but Baltimore needs to find its footing, fast.
  • Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are stumbling out of the gate ... again. Throwing away games in September makes it awfully difficult to win the division but we've seen how good this offence can be.
  • The Pittsburgh Steelers are the only undefeated AFC North team thanks to Justin Fields and a strong defence. Points have been hard to come by, though, and questions still linger about how much Fields can do.
  • Here's a fun fact: The Houston Oilers have won the AFC North more recently than the Cleveland Browns. With Deshaun Watson under centre, it's unlikely that changing up in 2024.

NFL division winner odds: AFC South

  • The Houston Texans caught fire toward the end of last season to snatch this division from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now they have Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon to play alongside C.J. Stroud. Look out.
  • The Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts both field capable rosters but need more consistent plays from their quarterbacks, Trevor Lawrence and Anthony Richardson, to compete. Jacksonville, Indianapolis and Tennessee are all 0-2.

AFC West

  • The Chiefs have won this division eight straight times and are big favourites to do so again. With Patrick Mahomes under centre and an elite defence, it's hard to see that changing.
  • The one realistic competitor for KC figures to be the John Harbaugh-led Los Angeles Chargers. Justin Herbert is a gunslinger but he lost his top two receivers over the offseason. It's more reasonable to expect the Chargers to compete in 2025, though the team is already 2-0.

NFC East

  • No team has won this division two times in a row since 2004. So ... is it the Philadelphia Eagles year? The Washington Commanders and New York Giants are well outside of the mix so it's likely either Philly or the Dallas Cowboys taking this home.
  • The Eagles and Cowboys both rolled in their openers, putting up 34 and 33 points, respectively. But Dallas got steamrolled by the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.

NFC North

  • The Detroit Lions won the NFC East for the first time in 30 years and it was no fluke. The offence is among the league's best and the defence looked sharp against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1 before losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the following weekend.
  • The Green Bay Packers figured to contend for the title but Jordan Love was injured in a Week 1 loss. That said, the severity is unknown and he could be back sooner than anticipated.
  • Caleb Williams looked like a rookie in his debut but the Chicago Bears still won. He looked like a rookie in Week 2 and the Bears lost. If he can start clicking Chicago should have darkhorse potential with an elite defence.

NFC South

  • Last year this division was a trainwreck but this year, it looks strong — outside of the Carolina Panthers, of course. New Orleans and Tampa Bay are both 2-0 with big Week 2 wins over the Cowboys and Lions, respectively.
  • Kirk Cousins is on the revamped Atlanta Falcons and is 0-1 ahead of their Monday Night Football matchup with the Eagles. Let's see how they do there and re-assess.

NFL division winner odds: NFC West

  • The Niners rolled to a win over the Jets without Christian McCaffrey in the fold and are favoured to run away with the NFC West yet again. That makes sense considering their litany of all-pro talent across the roster.
  • The Seattle Seahawks (2-0) and Arizona Cardinals (1-1) have reasonably long odds to pull off a shocker. Arizona blew the doors off the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2 in a game where Marvin Harrison Jr. had 130 yards and two touchdowns.
