Best World Cup 2026 Odds

The favourites: Brazil (+550)

After Brazil's quarterfinal exit at Copa America, it may come as a shock that Selecao are favoured for the World Cup.

The nine-time Copa America winners Brazil showed surprising struggles in the tournament, only winning one game. They were unceremoniously dropped out of the tournament by Uruguay in a penalty shootout.

Despite boasting the likes of Vinicius Junior and Endrick, the Brazilians struggled to find the back of the net. They recorded the third-fewest goals among teams that have advanced past the group stage.

The five-time World Cup winners didn't have the best of performance last time around on the biggest stage, either. Brazil lost to the eventual third-place finishing Croatia on penalties in the quarterfinal.

Canada's World Cup 2026 odds

Canada (+8,000)

The Canadians unsurprisingly come in with lengthy odds to win the World Cup. But their recent form is quite encouraging.

Les Rouges reached the semifinal at Copa America, matching the farthest the U.S. has ever reached. Canada ultimately bowed out in the semis and then lost in a dramatic penalty shootout against Uruguay in the third-place match.

The Canadians' run vaulted them into No. 40 in the FIFA rankings, an eight-spot climb from the 48th position they held before the tournament started. This is the highest ranking for Canada's men's national team since March 2022, when it sat 38th in the FIFA rankings. That followed the team's best-ever ranking (No. 33) from a month earlier.

There is potential for the squad to get stronger by the time June 2026 comes around. Canada coach Jesse Marsch hopes that Canada's recent success will have dual-nationals rethinking about playing for the red and white, telling TSN that the squad has made contact with "up to 10" players.

World Cup 2026 notes

  • Spain sits with the third-shortest odds to win after an impressive title run at Euro 2024. The Spaniards went 7-0 throughout the competition, besting the pre-tournament favourites England in the final, 2-1. Now 17-year-old Lamine Yamal stole the show as a 16-year-old to become the youngest player to appear in a World Cup or Euro final. He also became the first player to score or assist in a quarterfinal, semifinal, and final of a single European Championship regardless of age.
  • The 2024 Copa America winners Argentina sit with the fifth-shortest odds just under two years out. The Argentinians are coming off their record 16th Copa America title with a 1-0 win over Colombia. Although Lionel Messi stated that the 2022 World Cup would be his last, he left the door open to make an appearance in 2026. And, of course, they are the reigning World Cup champs after winning their third championship in their country's history.
