After a tense battle that went to overtime in Week 15, the Calgary Stampeders and BC Lions will meet again on Sunday at BC Place.

The pregame narrative: In their first game with trade acquisition Vernon Adams Jr. starting at quarterback, the Lions upset the heavily favoured Stampeders. Now they'll host Calgary looking to sweep the season series.

Stampeders vs. Lions picks

Best bet: Over 55 points (-110)

This is an ambitious line, but these two teams have shown us that they're more than capable of clearing it in their matchups this season.

Not only have the Stampeders/Lions contests produced 70.5 points, on average, and hit this over twice, the two teams have been overwhelmingly successful at moving the ball, combining for 1622 total offensive yards.

Even if we ignore the head-to-head matchups for a moment, these teams' full-season numbers suggest this over is on the light side. The Lions and Stampeders are the two highest-scoring teams in the CFL, averaging 31.7 and 31.4 points per game, respectively.

The major caveat here is that BC lost stud quarterback Nathan Rourke to a foot injury, but Adams was outstanding in his stead last week.

In Week 15, the former Montreal Alouettes' dual-threat ability was too much for a Stampeders defence that leads the CFL in yardage allowed. He might struggle to replicate his effort that was good for 328 total yards, but it's clear that the Lions' offence has found new life.

Calgary's offence, on the other hand, has been lighting it up ever since Jake Maier took over at quarterback, averaging 35 points per game with the 25-year-old under centre.

The biggest hurdle to overcome for this over is BC's solid defence, but the Stampeders have scored 69 points against them in two games this season.

Key stat: Calgary and BC have scored a combined 141 points in their two games.

Quick picks

Stampeders +1 (-110): Calgary is 0-2 in this matchup this season, but it has lost by a combined three points. That means even a small spread like this could come into play — as it did on August 13 when the Stamps lost 41-40.

The Stampeders didn't know what to expect from a Lions offence led by Adams in Week 15, but a full game of tape to watch should put them in a better position for the rematch. It's also noteworthy that Calgary travels well with a 5-2 road record that comes with a CFL-best +82 point differential.

Stampeders +1 + over 55 points (+255): This bet provides a tidy payday if both of the picks above come through.

Nothing we've seen from Calgary and BC's battles this year suggests that we're in for a low-scoring game, and we see the Stampeders getting their revenge after two losses earlier in the season.
