If you want in on Aaron Judge's five-week heater, check out how he's involved in this +347 MLB parlay.
The pregame narrative: Judge has been playing out of his mind for more than a month and looks like a solid pick to score a run. This three-leg ticket also includes a five-inning bet on the Philadelphia Phillies and an alt under in a game featuring two of the league's least-productive offences.
Check out my MLB parlay picks for June 11.
MLB parlay picks
Parlay: Phillies -0.5 - first five innings + White Sox/Mariners under 8.5 runs + Judge over 0.5 runs (+347)
Phillies -0.5 - first five innings (-121): Zach Wheeler is on some kind of heater right now, and I'm more than happy to get in on it at this price.
Marvel at the right-hander's numbers over his past nine starts:
- 1.91 ERA
- .165 opponent BA
- 9.7 K/9
More importantly, the Phillies are a dazzling 7-1-1 on the F5 moneyline in those outings. Philadelphia also owns a 43-17-5 record on the F5 moneyline overall.
The Boston Red Sox counter with Kutter Crawford tonight, and there's no reason to expect him to keep up with Wheeler.
Crawford is 1-5-2 on the F5 moneyline in his past eight starts, and he has a 5.17 ERA in that span.
Other parlay picks
White Sox/Mariners under 8.5 runs (-235): The Chicago White Sox and Seattle Mariners combined for 12 runs last night, but eight of those came in the final inning-and-a-half.
Largely speaking, this is a total both offences have had difficulty reaching. Seattle (3.9 runs/game) and Chicago (3.1 runs/game) rank 26th and 30th, respectively, in scoring.
Bryan Woo (3-0, 1.07 ERA) gets the ball for Seattle and he has been exceptionally tough on hitters this year. Through six starts, he's holding opponents to a .139/.160/.183 slash line.
Chicago will send Drew Thorpe to the mound for his MLB debut. Thorpe, a second-round pick two years ago out of Cal Poly, was a consensus top 100 prospect coming into the season. He had a 1.35 ERA in 11 starts at Double-A Birmingham.
Judge over 0.5 runs (-141): Entering play on May 3, Judge was batting below the Mendoza Line. But that is long in the past now.
In 34 games since, Judge is batting .419 with an absurd 1.566 OPS. He has 4.3 fWAR in that span ... and only Gunnar Henderson has more fWAR than that on the season (4.4).
Judge has also scored 39 runs in those 34 games, cashing this bet 28 times.
Kansas City Royals starter Brady Singer (4-2, 2.76 ERA) has enjoyed a nice season so far. That helps explain why Judge's price to score is still in a somewhat palatable range as a single wager.
But Judge is 3-for-7 with two walks against Singer, and his scorching hot streak overall makes this a compelling play.
