The favourite: Connor McDavid (+1,000)
The Edmonton Oilers are a legitimate Stanley Cup contender again and that makes McDavid a sensible favourite to win this award.
Edmonton has the fifth-best odds (+800) to win it all. Anybody picking the Oilers to win the Stanley Cup likely expects McDavid to play a huge role in that.
He's been excellent through two games for Edmonton, tying for the postseason lead in points with six.
He led the 2022 postseason points race with 33 in 16 games. A similar effort and a little more team success could earn him his first-ever Conn Smythe Trophy.
McDavid finished the regular season with 132 points in 76 contests.
Conn Smythe notes
- The Hurricanes (+425) are the favourites to win the Stanley Cup and Sebastian Aho (+1,500) has the best odds of any Canes player to take home the award. He has two points in two games for Carolina.
- Igor Shesterkin (+2,000), Sergei Bobrovsky and Frederik Andersen are tied for the best odds of any goalie to win the award. Only one goalie (Andrei Vasilevskiy, 2021) has won the Conn Smythe Trophy in the last 10 years.
- Auston Matthews (+5,000) has the best odds of any Toronto Maple Leafs player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy. Matthews led the NHL with 69 goals this season and he figures to be the driving force if the team makes a deep postseason run.
