MLB parlay picks April 29: Bet on Phillies, Pirates to win in +390 ticket

Two moneylines and an under form Monday's MLB parlay picks.

The pregame narrative: The Philadelphia Phillies are surging and I'll pick them to beat the Los Angeles Angels. The total is low between the Atlanta Braves and Seattle Mariners, and I'm teasing it down and taking the over. Thirdly, I'm fading the lowly Oakland Athletics against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Check out my MLB parlay picks for April 29.

MLB parlay picks

Parlay: Phillies moneyline + Braves vs. Marines over 6.5 runs + Pirates moneyline (+390)

Phillies moneyline (-143): Philadelphia is rolling and I'll jump on the train.

The Phillies have won four consecutive games after sweeping the San Diego Padres over the weekend. They enter Monday's action an impressive 19-10 and are getting major contributions from the offence.

Philadelphia ranks sixth in OPS (.745) and fifth in hits (249).

It'll also hold an inviolable pitching edge in this contest. Cristopher Sanchez gets the ball and he's been excellent, pairing a 2.96 ERA with a 2.24 FIP.

Los Angeles sends Griffin Canning to the mound and he's fighting it. The righty owns a 7.50 ERA and a 5.35 FIP while the Angeles have lost four of his five starts.

L.A. has lost four consecutive contests ahead of Monday's matchup.

Other parlay picks

Braves vs. Mariners under 6.5 runs (-159): This total is very low, and for good reason.

Max Fried and Bryce Miller take the mound for their respective teams. Miller's 2.22 ERA suggests he's having a strong campaign but his 4.59 FIP hints at some possible regression moving forward.

And you'll be hard-pressed to find a lineup better suited to make a pitcher pay for his mistakes than the Braves. They pace the league in OPS (.801) and are tied for fourth in runs (149).

Fried is coming off his best start of the year, a nine-inning complete-game shutout, but his season-long numbers still present cause for concern. He combines a 4.97 ERA with a 3.97 FIP and has allowed three-plus runs in three of five starts.

The over on this total has cashed in four of Fried's appearances and 10 of Atlanta's last 13 games.

Pirates moneyline (-130): Picking on Oakland is how I'm rounding out this parlay.

The Athletics have exceeded expectations with an unimpressive 12-17 record. Their minus-43 run differential, however, suggests they are much worse than their record.

Joe Boyle starts for the A's and he hasn't given his team much. His 7.06 ERA and 4.52 FIP have unsurprisingly led the squad to four losses in his five outings.

Pittsburgh sends Bailey Falter to the bump and he's hardly done what his name suggests. Falter has a 3.33 ERA on the campaign, a number that drops to 1.57 in his last four starts.

Picks made at 3:54 p.m. on 04/29/24.
