Best MLB prop bets June 16: Back Seager, Witt Jr. to produce offence

Corey Seager and Bobby Witt Jr. headline Sunday's MLB prop bets.

The pregame narrative: Both of these players have a matchup they can strive against but I'm backing them in different ways. I'm taking Seager to tally two-plus total bases while also finding value in betting Witt Jr. to score a run.

Check out the best MLB prop bets for June 16.

MLB prop bets

Best bet: Seager over 1.5 total bases (+112)

Seager has seen success against Mariners' starter, Logan Gilbert, in the past. The slugger has six hits in 18 at-bats against the righty. Three of those went for extra bases.

That's not surprising for Seager who often hits the ball hard when making contact. That is evident in his .821 OPS (25th in the MLB).

He's failed to record a hit in three of his last five but went on a 16-game hit streak before that and has a plus matchup to get back on track.

His average jumps to .271 and his OPS rises to .922 against righties this season so it makes sense why Gilbert is a guy he's taken advantage of in the past.

The Seattle pitcher hasn't been at his best lately either. He's given up 19 hits and seven earned runs (four HRs) over his last three starts.

Key stat: Seager is hitting .313 with seven home runs over his last 15 games.

Quick picks

Witt Jr. to score a run (+125): Dodgers starter, Tyler Glasnow, is a stud but I think Witt Jr. may have his number.

It's a small sample size but the 24-year-old star has two hits in five plate appearances against Glasnow with one of those clearing the fence for the home run in their one meeting last season.

The shortstop's gotten even better since then.

He's hitting a ridiculous .326 with a .928 OPS this season and has leaped to be one of the game's most productive offensive players.

That is apparent in his last five games, having four multi-hit outings. If he continues to get on base at a high rate, there will be opportunities to drive him home. We're also covered if he hits a second career long ball off of Glasnow.

Witt Jr. has scored 59 runs in 72 games so I see value in getting this line at plus-money.
