We'll soon find out which Canadian team is the best in the west.

The Winnipeg Jets bowed out in the first round, leaving these two squads to battle for the title.

Edmonton certainly looks like the better team in the playoffs. The Oilers' offence scored at will against the Los Angeles Kings, registering four-plus goals in four of five games while totalling 22 goals through five contests.

Connor McDavid was his dominant self. The Edmonton captain paces the postseason with 12 points thus far.

McDavid isn't the only one posting up as a league leader, either. Zach Hyman is tied with Valeri Nichushkin for the playoff goal-scoring lead with seven.

Vancouver's offence was anything but prolific in its first-round series win over the Nashville Predators.

The Canucks averaged a minuscule 2.17 goals per game in the first road and an equally troubling 20.2 shots per game.

Goaltending questions abound for Vancouver, also. Starting netminder Thatcher Demko and backup Casey DeSmith were both injured in the first round, forcing third-stringer Arturs Silovs into action for most of the series.

Silovs was solid against a middling Preds offence, but there's nothing average about Edmonton's offensive attack.

This is the first time the Oilers and Canucks have met in the playoffs since 1992.
