The Western Conference finals begin tonight, and all eyes will be on both teams' young stars.
The pregame narrative: Luka Doncic may not be 100% healthy, but that hasn't stopped him from carrying the Dallas Mavericks to the conference finals for the second time in three years. On the other side, Anthony Edwards looks to send the Minnesota Timberwolves to their first-ever NBA Finals appearance.

To understand how much Doncic and Edwards mean to their teams — and to this series — all you have to do is look at their respective odds to win the Western Conference finals MVP.
The duo is neck-and-neck atop the odds leaderboard, while no other player has odds shorter than +800.
We've come to expect Doncic and Edwards to do it all for their teams, and I don't see why that would change now. Of the 10 players with the highest usage rates in the postseason (minimum four games), only those two are still competing for the title.
Through two rounds, Doncic has averaged 27.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.1 assists (46.1 PRA).
Edwards has averaged 28.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists (41.0 PRA).
Best Doncic prop bet
Best Bet: Over 28.5 points (-121)
Doncic has been dealing with a knee injury throughout the playoffs, but you might not know it if you saw how he closed out the conference semis.
In Games 5 and 6 against the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, Doncic shot 56.8% from the field and cashed this points prop both times. He also recorded a triple-double in both games.
Having three days of rest between rounds should help the MVP finalist, who tends to play 40-plus minutes on a nightly basis.
Dating back to last year, Doncic has crested the 30-point mark in three straight games against the T-Wolves. He also led the NBA in scoring this season (33.9 PPG).
Best Edwards prop bet
Best Bet: Under 5.5 assists (-106)
This is a bit of a toss-up line for Edwards, but I'm feeling good about taking the under.
Edwards has gone under this total in five of his past nine games, and he's also hit the under in five of his past six against Dallas.
The health of Mike Conley is important for this prop. With Conley sitting out Game 5 of the previous round, Edwards recorded a playoff-best nine assists
But Conley, who's listed as questionable for tonight, played a standard workload in Games 6 and 7 against the Denver Nuggets. As long as he's in the lineup tonight, Edwards shouldn't have much of a playmaking burden on him.
Among all playoff teams, the Mavericks have allowed the fourth-fewest assists to opponents (21.8 per game).
