The Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings take their series to L.A. after splitting the first two games.
The pregame narrative: Los Angeles took an early lead over Edmonton in Game 2 but needed overtime to earn a 5-4 win. Line matching gives the Kings a boost but I still like the Oilers to earn a win. The over is my play as both teams' offences are finding their footing.

Oilers vs. Kings picks
Best Bet: Oilers moneyline (-118)
One close loss isn't going to shake my confidence in Edmonton.
The Oilers still managed to push Game 2 to overtime despite trailing for almost the entirety of the contest.
Their offence showed up in the losing effort, potting four goals. They received contributions throughout the lineup with Brett Kulak, Zach Hyman and Dylan Holloway (two) producing all of their goals.
Seeing Edmonton's role players chip in is an encouraging sign for the remainder of this series.
The underlying numbers through two games also paint a rosy picture. The Oilers lead in expected goals (8.31-5.79), scoring chances (76-56) and high-danger chances (40-24), according to Natural Stat Trick.
Games 1 and 2 suggest this series is going to be a high-scoring showdown. That style favours the Oilers and makes them my preferred pick.
Key stat: Edmonton has won four of six meetings against Los Angeles this season.
Quick pick
Over 6.5 goals (+104): Taking the plus money odds on the over feels like the right thing to do considering how Games 1 and 2 played out.
The over on this total has comfortably hit in both games, with the two squads combining for 20 goals through the first two contests.
Edmonton's offence feels inevitable at this point. Connor McDavid is tied for the postseason lead with six points and the Oilers are second in power-play percentage (57.1%).
Goaltending hasn't been great in this series. The Kings rank 13th in save percentage (.855) and the Oilers place 12th (.857), making this the only series where both teams are bottom five in save percentage.
