Bianca Andreescu makes her long-awaited return to tennis on Monday at the French Open.
The pregame narrative: It's been a minute since we've seen Andreescu in action. The Canadian doesn't get an easy onboard as she goes toe-to-toe with seasoned clay-court player Sara Sorribes Tormo. Still, I expect Andreescu to make this a competitive match.

Andreescu vs. Sorribes Tormo French Open odds
Best Bet: Andreescu +4.5 games (-109)
Andreescu is the wild card in this match.
She hasn't competed in a match since Aug. 8, 2023, when she lost in straight sets to Camila Giorgi in the first round of the National Bank Open.
There are a few indicators we can point to when trying to forecast how she will perform. She was an underwhelming 2-3 on the clay courts last year but does have a 25-13 career record on the surface.
She advanced to the third round of last year's French Open, her best-ever result at the tournament.
But nine months removed from action and returning from a back injury, it's fair to wonder exactly where her game is right now.
It's easier to gauge where Sorribes Tormo is ahead of this contest. The Spaniard is 10-13 overall this year but a strong 8-5 on clay.
She has over 300 matches on the surface on her ledger, going a solid 196-108 lifetime.
But winning by this margin isn't something she has done much of this year.
Sorribes Tormo has failed to win by five-plus games in eight of her 13 clay matches in 2024.
It's been even worse lately for the 27-year-old, as she has only covered this spread in one of her last five matches.
Both players are quality returners and I wouldn't be surprised to see each have moments in this contest. All this line asks of Andreescu is to bring a competitive effort, and I believe she can do that.
Key stat: Andreescu won the lone head-to-head meeting between the two at the Miami Open in 2021.
