Euro 2024 Matchday 2 began on Wednesday as 24 nations remain in the fight to advance past the group stage.

The pregame narrative: Most top countries took care of business in their openers, though Slovakia defeating Belgium 1-0 was the one glaring upset. Surely, there are more surprises to come as group play kicks on.

  • France and the Netherlands met in a Euro 2024 qualifier match back in October, and Les Bleus came out on top, 2-1. Friday's match will be the first chance to see how Kylian Mbappe fares after breaking his nose in the group stage opener.
  • Turkey and Portugal meet with both sides looking to take the top position in Group F. The two nations faced off in a playoff with hopes of advancing to the 2022 World Cup where Cristiano Ronaldo and company were victorious, ending Turkey's WC bid.
  • Slovakia stunned Belgium, stealing a 1-0 victory which marked the biggest upset from the first part of the competition. Now, The Red Devils aim to get back on track with a match against Romania on June 22.
