Best Olympic men's golf odds
The favourite: Xander Schauffele (+155)
Schauffele has arrived and he's not going away.
The American won the Open Championship just months after securing the PGA Championship, joining rarified air by winning two majors in one season.
He fired an opening round 65 and followed it up with a pair of 66s.
Schauffele is second to Scottie Scheffler in SG: T2G on the PGA Tour and is one of the best putters on the planet, too.
If everything is clicking — like it seems to be right now — he could very well go back-to-back.
Canadian Olympic odds
Conners is a respectable 7-under but that's six shots out of medal contention.
The Listowell, Ont. native continues his strong run of form.
He qualified for the Olympics with a T9 finish at the U.S. Open. That was his best result ever at the major. Since then Conners finished T10 at the Genesis Scottish Open and T25 at the Open Championship.
Nick Taylor, meanwhile, is out of the mix at 2-under.
Olympic golf notes
- Rahm had a very disappointing start to the year but is rounding into form. He finished T7 at the Open and won his first LIV event the week after. A gold medal here would be a nice feather in the two-time major champion's hat.
- Fleetwood is just one shot off the lead and has a history of winning big events in Europe. The Englishman has even European Tour wins to his name. He's also finished inside the top-five seven times at majors.
- Scottie Scheffler is having a Tiger-esque run in 2024. The Texan won six times in 10 starts spanning from the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March to the Travelers Championship in June. He is four shots back and could be even closer but ranks 47th in strokes gained: putting this week, according to DataGolf.
