Despite only having a three percent chance to win the draft lottery, the Atlanta Hawks became the team with the fifth-widest odds to win the No. 1 overall pick since the lottery began in 1985.
The latest: Unlike last year, there is no set-in-stone first-overall pick on the day of the draft, making for some interesting odds as we inch closer to the first night of the NBA draft.
Here are the latest odds for the first overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft beginning on June 26.

Best 2024 NBA draft odds
The favourite: Zaccharie Risacher (-560)
Another year and another Frenchman is the favourite to become the first overall pick.
Zaccharie Risacher is the newest French phenom to come into the NBA after Victor Wembanyama took the league by storm last season.
The 19-year-old made his way to North America last week and has since participated in a private workout with the Atlanta Hawks. The 6-foot-9, 195-pound wing also has worked out with the Washington Wizards (second overall) and the San Antonio Spurs (fourth overall).
Brian Windhorst stated that he doesn't believe the Hawks are looking at Clingan while Alex Sarr declined a workout with Atlanta, leaving more hints that Risacher could be joining the squad.

Risacher's odds to go first have shifted from -121 to -560 in the last six days.
It's easy to see why teams at the top of the draft covet Risacher. He's a big wing who shot 42.4 percent from beyond the arc on over three attempts per game for French side, JL Bourg-en-Bresse.
That player archetype is not easy to come by and is highly valuable in today's NBA, which could ultimately be worthy of the first overall selection.
Other 2024 NBA draft odds
Best value: Donovan Clingan (+600)
Back-to-back national champion Donovan Clingan has risen up draft boards and the odds have reflected that. After opening up at over 10-to-1 odds to be selected first, the 20-year-old has become a real contender to hear his name called first on June 26.
The 7-foot-3, 282-pound centre reportedly had a great workout with the Hawks where he impressed both on and off the court, causing his odds to spike.
Though Windhorst may have poured some cold water on this:
Brian Windhorst on today’s Hoop Collective: “From what I understand, I really don’t think the Hawks are taking Clingan if they stay at 1. I think if they traded back, I think Clingan would be certainly an interesting player for them”
— Brad Rowland (@BTRowland) June 24, 2024
Said he would be “surprised” by Clingan at 1. https://t.co/5nsNaA8rPb
Sarr once held the second-best odds of being selected first (+110) but his refusal to work out for Atlanta cements the idea that Clingan is Risacher's biggest rival for the top spot.
2024 NBA draft odds notes
- While Risacher is favoured to go No. 1 overall, Sarr is favoured to go No. 2 at -1,250. Reed Sheppard holds the shortest odds at third overall (-200) and national champion Stephon Castle is the favourite to go fourth (-125). Check out the full odds for the 2024 NBA draft.
- The Toronto Raptors have cast a wide net for their picks at both 19 and 31, bringing in nearly 30 players (that we know of) for workouts. Among them are Purdue and Canadian centre Zach Edey, California's Jaylon Tyson and the G League Ignite's Tyler Smith.
