The 2024 NFL draft order is set and it's looking like USC's Caleb Williams will be first off the board.
The latest: The Chicago Bears are on the clock, followed by the Washington Commanders and New England Patriots. Chicago may be looking to trade back after last year's fleecing of the Carolina Panthers but regardless of who steps to the podium in Detroit, Williams seems like the sure-fire No. 1 pick.
Here are the latest NFL draft odds as of March 4.

Best NFL draft odds
The favourite: Caleb Williams (-910)
Williams is the odds-on favourite for a reason.
Despite not performing at the NFL Combine, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner is the type of dynamic threat most teams could only dream of acquiring. Williams threw for 4,537 and 42 touchdowns while rushing for 10 scores in his Heisman campaign.
Any hopes of defending that trophy went by the wayside in 2023 as the Trojans went 7-5 in what was a failure of a season. But that was largely due to defensive issues. Williams threw for 3,633 yards and 30 touchdowns, adding 11 scores on the ground in 12 games (he played 14 in 2022).
He also posted a career-best 170.1 passer rating, 68.6 completion percentage, and 9.4 yards per attempt.
The Bears seem like a logical landing spot for Williams, especially given how historically inept the team has been at the quarterback position.
Current signal-caller Justin Fields had a fine season, but has been injury-prone and carries a much heftier price tag than what Williams would cost should Chicago enact his fifth-year option.
But if the Bears decide to trade back from the No. 1 slot — as they did with the Panthers last year — the team could likely receive a king's ransom for the rights to draft Williams.
Other choices to go first overall
Drake Maye (+900): It seems unlikely that someone will dethrone Williams as the top pick but Drake Maye would be the (somewhat) logical option.
The UNC product threw for slightly more yards (3,608) than Williams this season but with fewer touchdowns (24). That said, he had a much better freshman season for the Tar Heels, posting 4,321 passing yards and 38 TDs.
But it's still hard to imagine Maye overtaking Williams as the betting favourite barring a spectacular pro day from the former — or off-field issues for the latter.
Whether he goes No. 1 or not has no bearing on whether Maye can be a good — maybe even great — NFL player, though.
