Ottawa Redblacks (1-0) vs. Montreal Alouettes (2-0)

The reigning Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes will kick off the week by welcoming in the Ottawa Redblacks. The Als come into Week 3 undefeated, boasting a top-tier defence that looks just as dominant as it did a year ago.

The unit is first in the CFL in most major defensive categories, including net yards allowed (641), touchdowns allowed (three), and points allowed (32).

Redblacks first-year starter Dru Brown will have his work cut out for him, but getting support in the running game like he did last week — Ottawa had 129 yards on the ground — would be a major help.

BC Lions (1-1) vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (0-2)

After meeting in the past two West Division finals, the Lions and Bombers square off early in the 2024 campaign.

This is uncharted territory for Winnipeg’s core. The Blue Bombers failed to start 2-0 for the first time since 2018. In fact, they're winless through two games for the first time since 2016. That's largely due to offensive struggles.

Zach Collaros, the highest-paid player in the league, has yet to throw a touchdown pass while throwing three interceptions. Winnipeg is averaging the fewest points per game (15.5) and net offensive yards per game (296.5) so far.

For BC, it’s been a completely different story with QB Vernon Adams Jr. He's had a wonderful start to the campaign, throwing for the third most yards (640) and the second most TDs (four) in the league.

CFL Week 3 odds: Edmonton Elks (0-2) vs. Toronto Argonauts (1-0)

McLeod Bethel-Thompson will battle his former team in his old stomping grounds as the Elks face the Argos at BMO Field.

Don't let Edmonton's record fool you, though. The Elks have only lost by a combined 11 points against the undefeated Alouettes and the Roughriders. Bethel-Thompson has transformed the Elks' offence from one of the worst a year ago to a top-three unit to start the year.

Before its bye week, Toronto's offence looked like it hadn’t lost a step from last season. Cameron Dukes threw for three touchdowns while leading the Argos to 35 points in a win over BC.

Toronto will need more of that from the 25-year-old while Chad Kelly serves his nine-game suspension.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-2) vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders (2-0)

Week 3 will wrap up the same way Week 2 finished, with the Ti-Cats and Riders battling it out. Sask heads home for the first time this season after two crazy fourth-quarter comebacks on the road.

The Roughriders have outscored opponents 37-6 in the fourth through two games, including a 16-3 gap over Hamilton last week.

Both offences should be heavily involved to close the week once again. These two teams are in the top three in average net offence per game, and both surpassed the 400-yard mark last Sunday.
