MLB parlay picks May 25: Bet on Phillies to beat Rockies in +268 ticket

An over, an under and a bounce-back performance find their way onto Saturday's MLB parlay.

The pregame narrative: The Colorado Rockies cooled off the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday but I'm betting on the latter to topple the former. The over is a wise wager when the Miami Marlins visit the Arizona Diamondbacks while the under is my play between the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres.

Check out my MLB parlay picks for May 25.

MLB parlay picks

Parlay: Phillies moneyline + Marlins/Diamondbacks over 8.5 runs + Yankees/Padres under 8.5 runs (+268)

Phillies moneyline (-235): Philadelphia's body of work from this season gives me confidence it can rebound on Saturday.

The Rockies eked out a 3-2 win over the Phillies on Friday but some context is required. Bryce Harper, who's slashing .279/.388/.541 this season, was ejected after striking out in the first inning.

He'll be back in the lineup and an angry Harper is bad news for Colorado.

Just ask Orlando Arcia.

The pitching edge lies with Philadelphia in this contest and is the main reason for this pick.

Aaron Nola gets the ball and he pairs a 3.05 ERA with a 3.91 FIP. He's been especially solid since a seven-run outburst his first time out, posting a 2.37 ERA and 3.59 FIP across his last nine starts.

The Rockies turn to Dakota Hudson and his numbers aren't anything to behold. His 5.89 ERA and 5.39 FIP illustrate his struggles this season.

The Phillies have won 18 of their last 22 outings.

Other parlay picks

Marlins/Diamondbacks over 8.5 runs (-155): This game has plenty of firework potential.

Neither starter is having a season to remember and I wouldn't be surprised to see Arizona hang a gaudy total on Miami.

Sixto Sanchez takes the bump for the Marlins and he's fighting it. The righty pairs a brutal 6.41 ERA with an equally troublesome 4.56 FIP.

The over on this total has cashed in each of his last four starts.

Jordan Montgomery's tenure with the Diamondbacks hasn't been a smooth ride to this point. His 4.98 ERA and 4.44 FIP are far from dominant numbers and he's allowed three-plus runs in four of his last five appearances.

The over on this total has hit in three of his six starts.

Yankees/Padres under 8.5 runs (-180): Thirdly, I'm going under the game total in this contest.

For starters, Petco Park is an ideal venue for a low-scoring game. It ranks 28th according to MLB's Park Factors, making it one of the more pitcher-friendly spots in the majors.

A pair of strong arms duelling doesn't hurt this wager, either.

New York rolls with Marcus Stroman and his results have been largely encouraging to this point. He owns a 3.05 ERA and has allowed one run or fewer in three of his last four starts.

The under on this total has hit in seven of his 10 starts.

San Diego counters with Dylan Cease and he's been sensational. His 3.05 ERA and 2.82 FIP are excellent numbers, and opposing hitters are generating a minuscule .532 OPS.

He's allowed two runs or fewer in seven of his last 10 games.
