The Denver Nuggets can put a 3-0 stranglehold on the Los Angeles Lakers tonight.
The pregame narrative: Jamal Murray capped a 20-point comeback with a buzzer-beater on Monday and I expect him to put the screws to L.A. again tonight. I'm also backing Austin Reaves to load up the stat sheet.
Check out the full Nuggets vs. Lakers SGP picks for Game 3 of their first-round matchup on April 25.
Nuggets vs. Lakers SGP picks
Parlay: Nuggets ML + Murray over 21.5 points + Reaves over 19.5 PRA (+325)
Nuggets moneyline (-106): So much went right for Los Angeles in Game 3 but it still lost.
Anthony Davis scored 32 points on 73.7% shooting, D'Angelo Russell went 7-of-11 from deep, and Denver was held to a paltry 23.5% from beyond the arc.
None of it mattered, though, as the Nuggets outscored the Lakers by 12 in the fourth quarter to secure their 10th straight win against L.A.
LeBron James and Co. are back at home — where they went 28-14 this year — but Denver was a more-than-respectable road team. It went 28-14 outside the confines of Ball Arena and won both games in L.A. by a combined 18 points.
Other parlay picks
Murray over 21.5 points (-200): If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
That's my M.O. when it comes to backing Murray in this series. I took the guard over 24.5 points in Game 1 and 2 and he fell short in both with 20 and 22 points, respectively.
But the Canadian caught fire at the end of Monday's game. He scored 14 fourth-quarter points and led the Nuggets to a win.
Even with that late flurry, he's still shooting just 37.5% from the field. Some regression to the mean should be on the horizon.
Murray shot 52.7% from the floor against L.A. in the playoffs last year. He averaged 32.5 points per game and cleared this line in all four games.
Reaves over 19.5 PRA (-235): Reaves has been quiet this series but that shouldn't last long.
The third-year guard averaged 25.7 PRA during the regular season and was especially effective against the Nuggets. Reaves put up 29.3 PRA in three regular-season games versus Denver, clearing this line in each contest.
He also cleared this line in all four Western Conference Finals games last year.
Reaves has averaged 35.0 minutes of run this series and cleared this line once. He has a lot more to give.
