Round of 16 odds: July 1
France vs. Belgium, 12:00 p.m. ET
Portugal vs. Slovenia, 3:00 p.m. ET
Side A | Draw | Side B |
France -113 | +114 | Belgium +380 |
Portugal -235 | +370 | Slovenia +850 |
- France crashed out of Euro 2020 in the Round of 16 but advanced to the finals in both World Cups before and after that (winning in 2018). The high-powered offence has only scored two goals so far but has generated 4.69 xG in those matches, per FootyStats.
- Kylian Mbappe missed France's 0-0 draw against the Netherlands with a broken nose but returned to score against Poland on Matchday 3.
- Belgium was pegged as one of the favourites to win this event but has looked poor through three games with a 1-1-1 record and just two goals scored. The Red Devils did have a few goals disallowed but not scoring against Slovakia and Ukraine is a concern.
- Portugal already had Group F won when it lost to Georgia, so it's hard to hold that result against the team. Especially since it held 73% possession and outshot the Georgians 22-to-7.
July 2
Romania vs. Netherlands, 12:00 p.m. ET
Austria vs. Turkey, 3:00 p.m. ET
Side A | Draw | Side B |
Romania +750 | +400 | Netherlands -240 |
Austria -109 | +250 | Turkey +360 |
- The Netherlands had a rough group stage going 1-1-1 with an even goal differential. The Orange tied an Mbappe-less France side 0-0 and then lost 3-2 to Austria. It has a solid opportunity to right the ship as massive favourites against Romania, who squeaked into the knockout round.
- Austria needs to be given its flowers for winning Group D. The team lost a tightly contested game to France in its opener but followed that up by scoring three goals against both Poland and the Netherlands.
