Canada's bid for a medal in Paris is over.
The French rode a complete team effort — and a substantial 42-to-25 discrepancy at the line — to a nine-point win over the Canadians.
The fact that Canada won't have a chance at even bronze is perhaps the biggest shock of the tournament so far.
France is now +1,400 to win gold behind USA (-835) and Germany (+650). Serbia is +2,000.

France beat Canada 82-73 despite only getting seven points from Victor Wembanyama.
The 7-foot-4 phenom went 2-of-10 from the field but added 12 rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block in the win.
Four of his teammates scored in double-digits but the team's defence was the difference. Canada shot just 37.9% from the field and 23.8% from deep.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (27 points) and RJ Barrett (16 points) accounted for well over half of Canada's scoring while the rest of the lineup went ice cold.
France will need to bring that type of energy against the Germans, who blew out the hosts in the group stage.
Germany is the reigning FIBA World Cup champion and has won all four of its Olympic games by at least 13 points. The country has also consistently played well against the United States, beating it in the FIBA World Cup last year (and losing a 92-88 friendly in July).
Franz Wagner and Dennis Schroder have been leading the charge with 20.8 and 18.0 PPG, respectively.

Jokic, the reigning NBA MVP, is the best player in this tournament but it's hard to imagine him toppling the United States alone.
Serbia needed overtime to take down Australia in the quarterfinal and Jokic put up 21 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists in 39 minutes of play.
No one on Team USA played more than 21 minutes in a 35-point blowout of Brazil in its quarterfinal match.
The Americans are more talented, deeper and well-rested, and beat Serbia 110-84 in group play.
