Olympic men's basketball odds as of 11:51 a.m. on 07/26/2024.

The favourite: LeBron James (+200)

This shouldn't come as a huge surprise.

James is the biggest basketball superstar in the world and the face of Team USA.

The 39-year-old is competing in his fourth Olympic Games with hopes that he can secure his third gold medal.

Don't let his age fool you, James is still one of the best on the planet. The King averaged 25.7 points per game this season while posting his highest assists per game mark (8.3) since 2019-20.

It's been 12 years since James last suited up at the Olympics but he has a strong track record at this tourney. He finished fourth in points in 2008 (124) and ninth in 2012 (106).

The MVP award has only been awarded at one of the Games James suited up for, the 2004 Olympics. He was limited to just 11.5 minutes per game in that tournament while Team USA shockingly finished with a bronze medal.

Manu Ginobili won MVP honours as Argentina brought home gold that year.

The trophy was just reintroduced for the 2020 Games where Kevin Durant earned the award in Tokyo.

MVP notes

  • Gilgeous-Alexander is the only non-American listed with odds shorter than 10-to-1. That's a result of Team Canada holding the second-best odds to win and SGA's dominance this past season. The Canadian finished second in NBA MVP voting, losing to Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic.
  • Antetokounmpo is a bit of a wild card at 40-to-1. He's capable of taking over any game but Greece didn't fare so well in its final tune-up game. The Greeks lost handily, 94-72, to Serbia on July 22. Greece did, however, go 4-0 through Olympic qualifiers.
