Three plus-money hitter props make up today's top MLB recommendations.

The pregame narrative: The hitters are Pete Alonso, Brent Rooker and Vinnie Pasquantino. I expect all of them to deliver in favourable matchups.

Best bet: Pasquantino over 1.5 bases (+125)

Kansas City Royals star Bobby Witt Jr. is hitting a blistering .456/.500/.750 since the MLB All-Star Game. His teammate, Pasquantino, hasn't been bad, either.

Pasquantino has a .357/.378/.600 line through 17 games with 18 RBI and seven extra-base hits.

The left-handed first baseman hits righties particularly well (.274 BA, .809 OPS compared to .233/.634 vs. LHPs) and his Royals face one who has struggled versus lefty hitters.

Brayan Bello gets the start for the Boston Red Sox. Bello is allowing lefties to slug .500 with an .849 OPS, surrendering 11 of his 17 homers to them.

The 25-year-old started the season hot but has a 5.83 ERA since the beginning of May (15 starts).

Pasquantino's ability to make contact helps here, too. His 11.2 K% against RHPs is the fifth-lowest mark in MLB.

Key stat: Pasquantino has cleared this line in 10 of his last 15 games.

Quick picks

Alonso over 0.5 RBI (+105): Generally, you're looking for longer odds on an RBI prop but Coors Field prices stray from the norm.

Alonso and the New York Mets see Colorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland tonight. Freeland has thrown quality starts in six of his last seven outings, but he's been annihilated over the past few seasons.

He'll see a tough Mets lineup (113 wRC+ vs. LHPs) and I don't trust him in this spot. Alonso is slugging .500 versus lefties and will have a collection of strong hitters ahead of him.

Leadoff man Francisco Lindor is on fire, Brandon Nimmo is an on-base machine and JD Martinez provides his best work against southpaws.

Alonso should find himself in run-producing situations and I expect him to cash in.

Rooker over 0.5 RBI (+130): The Oakland A's slugger is tied for fourth in the majors in RBI (81).

He's been punishing both lefties and righties all season and finished July with a 1.288 OPS.

Rooker and the A's will see Chicago White Sox starter Jonathan Cannon, who's tasked with trying to stop their 21-game skid.

Cannon's first taste of the big leagues hasn't been awful but he's been wild lately and doesn't miss bats, giving Oakland's middle-of-order threat a solid chance to come up with runners on base.

Following Cannon will be a White Sox bullpen with a 5.03 ERA (29th in MLB). Chicago is one of two teams allowing more than five runs per game.
