The New York Knicks look to send the Philadelphia 76ers packing at Madison Square Garden.

The pregame narrative: New York has a 3-1 series lead and I expect it to finish the job tonight. Backing a teased-down Tyrese Maxey point total and fading a teased-up Jalen Brunson point total rounds out this +300 same-game parlay.

Check out the full 76ers vs. Knicks SGP picks for Game 5 of their first-round matchup on April 30.

76ers vs. Knicks SGP picks

Parlay: Knicks moneyline + Maxey over 22.5 points + Brunson under 38.5 points (+300)

Knicks moneyline (-167): New York has bullied Philadelphia this series and I expect the Knicks to close things out in front of what should be a crazy home crowd.

The team went 27-14 at Madison Square Garden this year and won both home playoff games while holding the Sixers to an average of 102.5 points.

New York had the sixth-best home defensive rating (110.6) during the regular season.

Philadelphia will need its A-game to win tonight and Joel Embiid isn't feeling 100%. The reigning MVP has battled a knee injury this postseason and sat out this morning's practice due to a migraine.

The Knicks have the second-best rebounding rate (53.3%) and offensive rebounding rate (38.9%) this postseason. They can and will win this game on the glass.

Other parlay picks

Maxey over 22.5 points (-230): Maxey has cleared this line in all four games while averaging 29.0 points. He's also never taken less than 20 shots per game (22.5 average) which is the type of volume I'm looking for.

The fourth-year guard faces a really tough matchup, but if you're taking that many shots, some are going to go in.

He also had his best two games of the series in New York. Maxey scored 33 and 35 points in Games 1 and 2 while shooting a combined 26-of-48 (54.2%).

This should be a cakewalk, but if Embiid is out or limited it will be even easier.

Brunson under 38.5 points (-305): Brunson just set the Knicks' playoff scoring record with a 47-point outing on Sunday. The game before that, he had 39 points. But I'm still willing to tease up his total and take the under tonight.

Brunson had 22 and 24 points in his two home games this series while shooting 16-for-55 from the field. He's clearly found his stroke since and will perform better but this is just a ridiculous number.

The point guard averaged 31.1 points since the all-star break and still fell under this total in 17 of 24 games (70.83%). That includes three games against Philly.

Brunson went under this total in six straight games versus the Sixers prior to his last two outings.

Picks as of 1:49 p.m. on 04/30/2024.
