April 21 NBA playoff odds, schedule and matchups: Celtics, Thunder are huge home favourites in Game 1

The NBA playoffs are underway with four more series beginning on Sunday.

The latest: The slate is bookended by two potential blowouts as the No. 1 seeded Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder host the Miami Heat and New Orleans Pelicans. Both home teams are heavy favourites. Elsewhere, the Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Milwaukee Bucks are underdogs to the Indiana Pacers while the Los Angeles Clippers host the Dallas Mavericks.

  • Boston was a league-best 37-4 at home with a +15.5 net rating. The Celtics covered the spread in 22 of those games (56.4%). Miami was 17-9 ATS as a road dog this year.
  • Dallas went 16-4 SU and ATS to close out the season while Los Angeles went 10-10 SU and 6-14 ATS.
  • Indiana went 4-1 against Milwaukee this year but the teams haven't played since January 1. The Bucks went 17-19 with a +1.2 net rating with Doc Rivers as the head coach.
  • New Orleans was a league-best 14-5-1 ATS as a road underdog but will be without Zion Williamson in Game 1. The Pelicans did go 8-5 without Zion this year but lost by 24 points to the Thunder with him sidelined.
