Argentina vs. Canada betting preview
The CANMNT secured one of their biggest wins in program history on Friday — can they keep the ball rolling?
Les Rouges came out of the gate flying against Venezuela and took an early 1-0 lead off the right boot of Jacob Shaffelburg. The Kentville, Nova Scotia native has emerged as one of the most dynamic players not only on Canada's roster but in the whole tournament.

Jesse Marsch's side was slightly out-possessed during the game but was unquestionably better throughout. It also had to deal with some questionable officiating, to say the least.
Canada generated 1.87 expected goals to Venezuela's 0.97 and laced seven shots on target to its opponent's three, per The Analyst.
Jonathan David and Shaffelburg both missed prime chances following the latter's opener and Venezuela eventually equalized. The Canadians came through on penalties to get the result they ultimately deserved.
But Canada's road to the semifinal wasn't exactly pretty. The team picked up a 1-0 win against Peru and a 0-0 draw against Chile — both of which were shown red cards early — to squeak out of Group A with four points and one goal scored.
It's a good thing Marsch's squad played its best game at the perfect time. However, Canada will need an even better effort to topple the reigning champion Argentines.
La Albiceleste haven't looked like world beaters this tournament and Messi hasn't found the net but they still managed to beat Canada 2-0 in the tournament opener. Les Rouges were the better team to start the game and generated 0.77 xG to Argentina's 0.44 in the first half but the Canadians' finishing was way off.
Argentina is a bit off but has nonetheless scored in nine straight games with multiple tallies in five of those contests.
It will probably find the net on Tuesday so the pressure will be on Canada — mainly Shaffelburg, David, Alphonso Davies, and Cyle Larin — to capitalize on its chances.
