The pregame narrative: Spain knocked out France to secure its spot in the final. Now, England looks to advance to a second straight European Championship final but will have to get past a Netherlands side which is finding its form.

England has scraped and clawed its way to a second-straight European Championship semifinal.
The Three Lions went 1-2-0 in the group stage, scoring just two goals in the process. Then, they had one foot out the door against Slovakia in the quarterfinal before Jude Bellingham provided a last-minute equalizer.
England won that game in extra time and then advanced past Denmark in penalties.
Basically, the team hasn't been that good so far. England ranks 21st in expected goals per 90 (0.77), according to FBRef.
Gareth Southgate's side will be in tough against a Dutch team which is clicking.
After a disappointing group stage, the Netherlands beat Romania 3-0 and Turkey 2-1 to secure its first semifinal spot since 2004.
Those opponents aren't defensive stalwarts, to be fair, but Cody Gakpo and Co. have been moving the ball nicely as of late and that's encouraging.
