A back injury kept her out until May and she's experienced mixed results since returning. She's 8-4 overall this year which includes a 2-1 record on the clay court.
Her three matches on clay occurred at Roland Garros which is where this match will take place.
She's facing a competitor in Tauson who has become a strong player on this surface. She's 27-9 on clay since the start of 2023.
Tauson achieved her best result at a Grand Slam this year when she advanced to the fourth round at the French Open.
She knocked off some top competitors during her run at Roland Garros, including world No. 11 Jelena Ostapenko.
Andreesscu has been most successful on grass this year, boasting a 6-3 record on the surface thanks to her run to the final at Hertogenbosch.
Tauson, however, holds a slight edge on clay and in the service game as well.
The Danish tennis player is capable of taking over a match with her serve. She ranks 21st in first serve points percentage (69.6%) which is significantly higher than Andreescu's mark of 64.8% (74th), according to WTAtennis.com.
