Best Olympic men's 100m dash odds

The favourite: Kishane Thompson (-167)

You might know who Lyles is. But if you don't know Thompson, you should become familiar.

Thompson was the favourite over the American sensation but the two share co-favourite status days before the event.

The 22-year-old Thompson shot to the top of the board after a stunning recent performance. He trailed early in the 100m final at the Olympic trials in Jamaica, before blazing by the competition in the back half to win the event.

The Jamaican would finish with an incredible time of 9.77 seconds. That was the fastest time recorded in the 100m in two years.

The last time someone ran faster was when American Fred Kerley recorded a 9.76 in his win at the 2022 World Championships.

The youngster is now the fourth-fastest Jamaican behind Usain Bolt (9.58), Yohan Blake (9.69), and Asafa Powell (9.72).

Lots of eyes will also be on the Lyles as well.

The 27-year-old will look to win a record of four gold medals. In addition to the 100m dash, he's also competing in the 200m, 4x100m relay, and the 4x400m relay.

After securing his first world title in the 100m and third in the 200m last year in Budapest, Lyles has stated that he wants to take down Bolt's 9.58-second record in the 100m, while also going faster than his 19.19 seconds in the 200m.

With these two competing at the top, it's shaping up to be a must-see event.
