We are a third of the way through the 2024 CFL season and the Montreal Alouettes remain at the top of the power rankings.

Despite suffering their first loss in nearly a full calendar year, the Alouettes remain at the peak of the CFL mountain. Meanwhile, the surging BC Lions are right on their heels.

Check out our CFL power rankings for Week 7.

1. Montreal Alouettes
Record: 5-1 | Grey Cup Odds: +250 BET HERE
Last week's ranking: 1 (+0) Last game: 37-18 loss vs. Toronto
Up Next: July 25 vs. Saskatchewan
The buzz: Montreal remains No. 1 heading into their first bye week.

After winning 13 straight games dating back to Week 16 of last season, a 37-18 loss to Toronto in Week 6 has snapped the streak. Quarterback Cody Fajardo also suffered an injury and his availability on the other side of the bye remains in doubt.

But the defence is still elite. The unit tops most of the major defensive categories and has only allowed more than 23 points twice since Week 14 of 2023.

2. BC Lions
Record: 5-1 | Grey Cup Odds: +200 BET HERE
Last week's ranking: 2 (+0)
Last game: 35-20 win vs. Saskatchewan

The buzz: The hottest team in the league is at No. 2.

BC is on a five-game win streak, averaging 31 points per game over that span. They are led by MOP candidate Vernon Adams Jr. Through six games, the gunslinger has thrown for 2,203 yards (first), 12 TDs (first), and has an efficiency rating of 114.7 (first).

3. Saskatchewan Roughriders
Record: 4-1 | Grey Cup Odds: +600 BET HERE
Last week's ranking: 3 (+0) | Last game: 35-20 loss vs. BC

The buzz: Despite suffering their first loss in Week 6, Saskatchewan remains in the top three.

The Riders ran into the Lions last week and backup quarterback Shea Patterson. Their offence wasn't up to the task. However, Saskatchewan still boasts one of the league's best defences, allowing just 47.4 rushing yards per game (first) while generating the most turnovers in the CFL.

4. Toronto Argonauts
Record: 3-2 | Grey Cup Odds: +550 BET HERE
Last week's ranking: 4 (+0) | Last game: 37-18 win vs. Montreal

The buzz: The Argonauts took down the league's best and are trending in the right direction.

Toronto handed Montreal their first loss in over a calendar year in Week 6. The last team to beat Montreal prior to last week? The Argos back in Week 15 of 2023. Quarterback Cam Dukes and the rest of the squad continue to bid their time until reigning MOP Chad Kelly completes his suspension and is back in the fold.

5. Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Record: 2-4 | Grey Cup Odds: +900 BET HERE
Last week's ranking: 5 (+0) | Last game: 41-37 win vs. Calgary

Up Next: July 19 vs. Saskatchewan

The buzz: Quarterback Zach Collaros and the Bombers continue to turn their season around after a horrible 0-4 start.

Following their worst start since 2012, Winnipeg has won back-to-back games to improve to 2-4. After a slow start to his campaign, Collaros is coming off his best game of the season, throwing for 344 yards and two touchdowns against the Calgary Stampeders.

6. Ottawa Redblacks
Record: 3-2 | Grey Cup Odds: +1600 BET HERE
Last week's ranking: 6 (+0) | Last game: 37-34 win vs. Edmonton

Up Next: July 19 vs. Edmonton

The buzz: Quarterback Dru Brown is coming off his best start to get Ottawa above .500.

Lewis Ward sank a 38-yard field goal as time expired to give the Redblacks the win last week. But it was Brown who got them there. The 27-year-old completed 26 passes for 480 yards and two touchdowns in last week's victory over Edmonton, and will look to do more of the same in a Week 7 rematch.

7. Calgary Stampeders
Record: 2-3 | Grey Cup Odds: +2000 BET HERE
Last week's ranking: 7 (+0) | Last game: 41-37 loss vs. Winnipeg

The buzz: The Stamps are stumbling into a matchup against the CFL's hottest team.

Calgary has lost three of its last four games, with middling stats across the board. But they've been particularly bad in a couple of areas where they rank last in the CFL: average yards per play (5.3), average yards per play allowed (8.1), and total offensive yards allowed per game (396).

8. Edmonton Elks
Record: 0-5 | Grey Cup Odds: +8000 BET HERE
Last week's ranking: 8 (+0) | Last game: 37-34 loss vs. Ottawa

The buzz: Edmonton has had one of the most brutal starts to a season you can imagine.

Edmonton is 0-5 and has lost four straight games by three points while somehow losing by a walk-off field goal in the last three contests. They have lost by only a combined 20 points this season and have come close to beating the Alouettes, Lions, Roughriders, and Argonauts.

9. Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Record: 0-5 | Grey Cup Odds: +6600 BET HERE
Last week's ranking: 9 (+0) | Last game: 44-28 loss vs. BC

The buzz: Hamilton is one of two winless teams to begin the year and it's because of their defence.

The Tiger-Cats sit in the bottom two in most major defensive categories including yards allowed, first downs, and passing touchdowns. They have also surrendered the most points per game in the CFL (33.8) and have allowed the most touchdowns (16).
