Betting insights

  • The Mets and Yankees will play two more games against each other, but this time at Yankee Stadium. The Mets dominated the first two crosstown rivalry games at Citi Field last month, scoring 21 runs in the process. It'll likely be difficult to get that type of production tonight, however, with AL Rookie of the Year candidate Luis Gil (3.17 ERA, 1.08 WHIP) on the mound.
  • After losing their first series back after the all-star break, Toronto begins a new three-game set against Tampa Bay. Tuesday's game will be the eighth time these division rivals have squared off, and the Rays lead the season series, 4-3.
  • The Phillies and Twins will meet in Game 2 of their series at Target Field. After Philly dropped the opener, 7-3, NL Cy Young candidate Zack Wheeler (2.70 ERA, 0.99 WHIP) will take the mound. Simeon Woods Richardson (3.51 ERA, 1.15 WHIP), a former Blue Jay, will throw for Minnesota.
  • The Pirates look to claim their series against the Cardinals at PNC Park. After winning last night, Pittsburgh will trot out heavy NL Rookie of the Year favourite Paul Skenes. The all-star boasts a 1.90 ERA, a 0.92 WHIP and a spotless 6-0 record.
