Victor Wembanyama and host nation France are underdogs in a do-or-die Olympic matchup against Canada on Tuesday.
The pregame narrative: France (2-1) is an 8-point underdog against Canada (3-0), which came out on top of a deep Group A. The Canadians did well to neutralize Wemby in a pre-tournament exhibition and will look to do so again with an undersized but talented squad.

Canada doesn't have a single 7-footer on its Olympic roster. Wembanyama, meanwhile, towers over everyone at 7-foot-4. That size discrepancy was a major storyline ahead of the Canada vs. France friendly on July 19.
But you know what? It didn't really matter.
Wemby was held to 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists (25 minutes) in that matchup. He was the game's leading rebounder but didn't make as much of a mark as some folks — including me — expected.
In Tuesday's quarterfinal, I expect Wemby to put up much better overall numbers ... but there is one way I'm looking to fade him.
Best Wembanyama prop bet
Best bet: Under 3.5 assists (-112)
Yes, Wembanyama went over this total in his pre-tourney matchup against Canada. But he also attempted just seven shots in that game and should want to be far more ball-dominant in the rematch.
When it comes to scoring prowess, Wemby is head and shoulders above his teammates. Literally and statistically.
The NBA Rookie of the Year ranks 14th at the Olympics in points per game (17.0). None of his teammates are inside the top 30. And among the eight qualifiers for the knockout stage, France is seventh in scoring (81.0 PPG).
France's greatest chance to upset Canada involves Wemby filling the net, not playing the role of an oversized point guard.
Key stat: Wembanyama is averaging 3.0 assists per game in the Olympics and has hit this under twice.
