Canada vs. Germany preview
Would it be unreasonable to call Canada a team of destiny? Because that's certainly the vibes it's giving off right now.
FIFA came down heavily on the team for its scandal after Canada won its opener against New Zealand.
It levied a one-year ban on head coach Bev Priestman, alongside assistants Joseph Lombardi and Jasmine Mander from all soccer-related activity in addition to the six-point deduction.
But the Canucks stunned France with a 102nd-minute winner and then followed that up with a 1-0 win over Colombia on Matchday 3.
Châteauguay, Quebec native Vanessa Gilles scored both game-winning goals.

The squad is the slightest of underdogs to a solid German side, which was ranked fourth by FIFA heading into the Olympics.
Germany started its tournament with an impressive 3-0 win over Australia but looked human when USA smashed it 4-1 on Matchday 2.
Each of the team's last nine games has had three-plus goals scored. That helps explain why the over is heavily shaded at -182.
The Canadians and Germans have only met once in the last five years and Canada won, 1-0, back in 2022.
Canada has also won six of its last seven games. It is now 14-1-0 in its last 15 games against teams outside of the United States.
