The Olympic men's golf tournament is halfway done and I've got two picks heading into the weekend.
The latest: Scottie Scheffler isn't playing his best golf but is still a good bet to finish inside the top five when it's all said and done. Canada's Corey Conners is T13 after two rounds and I'll double down on him logging a top-10 finish.

Best Bet: Scheffler top-five finish (+120)
Let's get this out of the way: Scheffler is having putter troubles ... again.
The Texan ranks 90th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: putting (+0.037) this season and is 51st out of 60 players in that category through two rounds at Le Golf National, according to DataGolf.
But that hasn't stopped him from having a historic season and I don't think it will stop him from finishing inside the top five in Paris.
Scheffler has six wins to his name in 2024. That includes a second Masters title and a second Players Championship. He's also racked up two runners-up while missing zero cuts.
His ball striking is a class above the rest and that's been clear again this tournament.
He ranks fourth in strokes gained: tee-to-green and first in strokes gained: off-the-tee through two rounds.
Scheffler is consistently giving himself Grade-A opportunities on a hole-to-hole basis. Eventually, those putts are going to drop.
He's only two shots out of a top-five finish and can make up that ground in no time. After all, the two-time major champion leads the PGA Tour in birdie average (4.87).
Key stat: Scheffler has 10 top-five finishes in 16 starts this year.
Quick picks
Conners top-10 finish (+188): I took Conners to finish inside the top 10 before this event started at +200 and will double down at +188.
The Listowel, Ontario native is in great form. He has three top-10 finishes in his last six starts (Canadian Open, U.S. Open, Scottish Open) and just netted a T25 at the Open Championship.
Conners is doing what he does best right now: hitting the cover off the ball.
He ranks 15th in strokes gained: approach at this event and is coming off a pretty solid putting day by his standards.
Conners is currently one shot out of 10th place and I trust his ball striking to keep him in the mix throughout the weekend.
