Alex Pereira defends his lightweight title in a rematch with Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303 on Saturday night.

The pregame narrative: Pereira won in the first round against Jamahal Hill at UFC 300. On the same card, Prochazka overcame a slow start to knock out Aleksander Rakic in round two to earn a rematch against the Brazilian champ in Las Vegas.

UFC 303 Pereira vs. Prochazka best bet

Best Bet: Pereira to win by KO/TKO/DQ (+114)

I'm not sure there's ever been a quicker rise to UFC legend status than the one displayed by Pereira in his three-year tenure with the promotion.

The Brazillian is a two-division champion eight fights into this UFC career.

We probably won't ever see anything like it again and I believe his winning ways are far from over.

Back in November, Pereira won the light heavyweight title in his first fight with Prochazka after catching him with his patented left hook and finishing the Czech fighter with ground and pound.

That is something Prochazka can be prone to. In his fight against Rakic at UFC 300, he absorbed 36 significant strikes in the first round while only being able to land 11 of his own.

He of course went on to land a 53-strike onslaught in the second round on the way to the finish.

Rakic isn't Pereira, however.

"Poatan" ("Stone Hands") is widely popular for his otherworldly punching power and stoic demeanour. He's finished four of six opponents, three using that famous left hook.

Prochazka lives and dies by the sword. He lands 5.75 strikes per minute (56% accuracy) while absorbing 5.43 (41% defence), per UFC Stats.

He's just too hittable for me to see him having success in this matchup. That was evident when Pereira was able to land 38-of-61 signature strikes (62%) on route to the knockout.

Key stat: All four of Prochazka's career losses of come inside the distance.
