Uruguay and Brazil are the focus of these Copa America Matchday 2 best bets.
The pregame narrative: The Brazilians were shocked with a 0-0 draw against Costa Rica in their opener but I expect a bounceback performance on Friday. Before that, Uruguay is a good bet to light up bottom-feeding Bolivia.

Copa America best bet
Best Bet: Uruguay over 2.5 goals (-129)
Uruguay narrowly cashed this wager in its opening match against Panama, scoring a pair of late goals to secure a 3-1 victory.
The team deserved a result like that with its attack's quality on full display. La Celeste had 20 shots — seven of which found the target — and completed 118 passes in Panama's final third while generating 1.55 xG, per TheAnalyst.
Bolivia took on the USA in its opener and looked thoroughly outclassed.
Christian Pulisic buried a goal off a set piece minutes into the game with Folarin Balogun adding another before halftime. The Americans didn't get a third goal but that was largely thanks to the spectacular play of Guillermo Viscarra, who made several huge saves in the second half to keep things in reach.
USA has a solid attack but Uruguay's is just as talented, if not more so.
La Celeste potted four goals against Mexico in a pre-tournament friendly and picked up 2-0 wins over both Argentina and Brazil in World Cup qualifying last year.
Key stat: Uruguay beat Bolivia, 3-0, when the sides last played in November 2023.
Quick pick
Brazil half time/full time (-105): I took Brazil to score over 2.5 goals as my best bet for Matchday 1. Needless to say, that didn't work out.
The Selecao were held scoreless, though they did have several grade-A chances. Marquinhos had a goal disallowed by VAR and Lucas Paqueta ripped one off the post from distance.
Brazil dominated play and held 73.5% possession, outshooting Costa Rica 19-to-2, and generating 1.71 expected goals to its opponents' 0.03.
The team probably deserved a much better result than it got. And I think it is due for one against Paraguay.
Paraguay found itself down 2-0 at the half to Columbia in its opening match. Los Guaranies got one back in the second half but it wasn't enough to secure any points.
Brazil played Paraguay twice in 2022 World Cup qualifying and beat it 2-0 and 4-0. I expect a supremely talented team to break through with plenty of goals.
