  • France topped its previous result at the Euros with a trip to the quarterfinals following a 1-0 win over Belgium in the Round of 16. The high-powered offence is still searching for its top form having yet to score more than one goal in a game.
  • Portugal avoided an upset as it snuck by Slovenia in penalties in the Round of 16. Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty in extra time that caused quite a scare among Portuguese fans. But Diogo Costa stopped all three of Slovenia's spot kicks and was the hero in the end.
  • Spain has climbed to the second-shortest odds (+400) to win the Euros after winning all three group-stage matches and ending Georgia's hopes with a 4-1 victory.
  • Germany has scored more goals than any other country so far, netting 10 through the first four matches. Jamal Musiala leads the pack with three. The hosts meeting with the Spaniards has the potential to be a shootout.

July 6

England vs. Switzerland, 12:00 p.m. ET
Netherlands vs. Turkey, 3:00 p.m. ET

  • England has been less than impressive, and if not for a spectacular 96th-minute equalizer from Jude Bellingham, it would be Slovakia filling this spot. Nevertheless, the Three Lions have an easier path to the final, avoiding France, Portugal, Spain and Germany along the way.
  • Switzerland eliminated Italy off of a beautiful goal from Ruben Vargas that sealed the 2-0 victory for the Swiss. The nation is no stranger to making it this far, having reached this stage in 2020. Now the question will be whether this squad pull off an upset and reach the semis for the first time as a country.
  • Netherlands took care of business, defeating Romania 3-0 in the Round of 16. Cody Gakpo scored his third goal of the tournament in the 20th minute before Donyell Malen added two more off the bench.
