Canada made it through the knockout stages in its first-ever appearance at Copa America.
The pregame narrative: After almost an hour and a half of playing against 10 men in the group stage, Les Rouges had one goal to show for it. Venezuela provides the toughest task yet and I predict it to be too much for the Canadians.

Canada vs. Venezuela prediction
Best Bet: Venezuela to win (+175)
I'm not finding much logic behind Venezuela having wider odds (+175) to beat Canada than Chile (+120) did.
As much as Chile once was a powerhouse in South American soccer, the aging core has fallen off recently. The side is currently not in a position to get through the 2026 World Cup qualifiers alongside Bolivia and Peru.
In the same round-robin, Venezuela is fourth with a 2-3-1 record. That includes a 3-0 win over Chile.
Canada was blessed with playing against 10 men from the 27th minute on in its final group stage match yet looked in danger of losing to the Chileans on various occasions.
Les Rouges had the same sort of luck against Peru, playing a man up for almost the entirety of the second half.
All they could muster up was a single goal across those two matches which is concerning considering the circumstances.
Canada's defensive issues against 10 men left concern.
Chile had eight shots (four on target) in comparison to Canada's seven (three on target). As a result, Les Rogues was only able to create 1.05 xG according to xgscore.io.
That simply won't be good enough against one of South America's top teams.
Key stat: Venezuela is flawless so far at Copa America, winning all three matches with a goal differential of +5.
Pick made at 1:15 p.m. on 07/03/24.
