Novak Djokovic, the top-seeded player in the men's singles tournament at Paris 2024, closes out today's quarterfinal action against Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The pregame narrative: Djokovic is heavily favoured in this best-of-three match at Roland Garros in what will be the 14th head-to-head matchup between the duo. Tsitsipas, at his second Olympics, is the first Greek man to reach the quarterfinals since 1988.

The last time Djokovic was in a quarterfinal at Roland Garros, he bowed out quietly in a walkover against Casper Ruud.

That was at the French Open in early June, where Djokovic was unable to defend his title. But now he's back in Paris for this fifth Olympic appearance, and so far everything is running smoothly.

Djokovic hasn't dropped a set through three rounds. His greatest challenge came against yesterday against Germany's Dominik Koepfer, but the 37-year-old still emerged with a 7-5, 6-3 win.

Up next is Tsitsipas, who scraped by in the first round but has a pair of straight-set victories since then.

Head-to-head history illustrates Djokovic's sizeable advantage in Thursday's match. The world No. 2 player has won 10 matches in a row against Tsitsipas dating back to 2019, and he's 5-0 against Tsitsipas on clay.

In 2021, Djokovic and Tsitsipas went the distance in a five-set French Open final. After dropping the first two sets, Djokovic clawed all the way back for the win.

Since then, their matches haven't featured nearly as much drama. The Serbian star has won four of his past five over Tsitsipas in straight sets.
