Texans vs. Bears preview
Matt Eberflus is easing into things with none of his starters taking any reps in the Hall of Fame game, according to Ian Rapoport.
The #Bears starters (including Caleb Williams) won’t play in the Hall of Fame game, coach Matt Eberflus told reporters. Tyson Bagent, who has been grinding his absolute face off, will start at QB.

Tyson Bagent will run the offence for Chicago instead. The sophomore signal-caller appeared in five games for the Bears last season and threw three touchdowns to six interceptions while adding a pair of scores on the ground.
Houston also won't be playing its starters, meaning C.J. Stroud and Stefon Diggs won't get live reps together just yet.
Davis Mills will be under centre for the Texans and Canadian receiver John Metchie III will also be looking to make a statement.
Metchie was drafted in the second round in 2022 and missed his entire rookie year while undergoing acute promyelocytic leukemia treatment. He played sparingly in 2023 but was a standout at Alabama and won the National Championship in 2020.
