Betting insights
- The Yankees will try to keep a three-game road winning streak alive after their 14-4 win yesterday against the Phillies. Gerrit Cole (5.40 ERA) will man the mound for the Bronx Bombers, but it will be easier said than done for New York. Philadelphia boasts one of the league's best home records (38-19) and will send out Aaron Nola (3.44 ERA), who's had a great year.
- After a doubleheader yesterday that saw James McCann remarkably stay in the game after eating a pitch to the face, another Vladimir Guerrero Jr. home run, and Justin Turner get traded mid-game, the Jays and O's will do it all again. Keep an eye out for offence today as Baltimore (1st, 60.2%) and Toronto (6th, 55.8%) are two of the best teams at hitting the over, which hit in both games yesterday.
- The best in the NL West begin a two-game set in San Diego between the Padres and Dodgers. Tyler Glasnow (3.47 ERA) will be making his second start since his return from injury and he'll be shoving against knuckleballer Matt Waldron (3.64 ERA). As usual, all eyes will be on NL MVP favourite Shohei Ohtani, who leads LA with a .314 batting average and 32 home runs.
