Miller over 15.5 outs (-137): The gist of this pick is simple: Miller is running hot and Philadelphia is not.
The second-year righty is coming off a stellar July where he posted a 1.80 ERA across four starts. That was the second-best mark among all AL starters. He cleared this prop in each game with an 18-to-1 K/BB ratio in 25.0 IP.
Miller had some lousy opponents in that stretch (Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Angels) but also did well against some great offences (San Diego Padres, Baltimore Orioles).
Philly has been a wagon most of the season but is slumping right now — especially against righties.
Since July 1 the team ranks 23rd in K rate (24.5%), 26th in batting average (.227), and 27th in wRC+ against RHP (87).
