Victor Wembanyama's greatest Olympic test to date comes Friday afternoon as unbeaten France faces unbeaten Germany.
The pregame narrative: Both France and Germany are through to the quarterfinals, but the winner of Friday's matchup will have an easier road to the podium with a win. Wembanyama was dominant in exhibition play against Germany in July and will be expected to put up big numbers again in this game.

France and Germany met for a pair of friendlies in July. With Wembanyama, the French won, 90-66. Without him, France lost, 70-65.
His value to France's medal hopes is obvious. On a per-game basis, he leads the team in points (18.5) and rebounds (10.0), and he's the Olympic leader in both blocks (five) and steals (six).
Wembanyama finished with 18 points (3-for-5 from deep), 11 rebounds and six assists in France's overtime win over Japan on Tuesday.
He's treating the home crowd to quite a show in the early stages of this tournament.
Best Wembanyama prop bet
Best bet: Over 9.5 rebounds (-125)
Wembanyama has been all over the glass, but what else would you expect from a 7-foot-4 centre with a mile-long reach?
As mentioned above, Wemby topped this rebound total last time out against Japan. He finished with nine rebounds against Brazil in the tournament opener.
Wembanyama only finished with five rebounds against Germany in the July 6 exhibition match, but that doesn't deter me. Exhibitions aren't the same as meaningful matches, and Wemby only played 19 minutes.
He has surpassed the 30-minute mark in both group-stage games so far.
In addition to the enhanced workload, I like Wemby to go over his rebound total because Germany has been one of the least impressive rebounding teams so far in the Olympics.
Among the 12 squads, Germany ranks ninth in rebounds per game and 12th in offensive rebounds per game.
Key stat: In his past five games for France (two tournament games and three exhibitions), Wembanyama has averaged 9.8 rebounds and cashed this bet three times.
