It's getaway day in MLB, meaning that most of today's action begins in the early afternoon.
The latest: The Toronto Blue Jays look to avoid a sweep against the red-hot Detroit Tigers, while the Chicago Cubs turn to promising rookie Shota Imanaga for his first post-all-star break start. Later on, the Houston Astros try to create space between themselves and the Seattle Mariners in the AL West.

Betting insights
- Detroit is on a tear right now, winning four consecutive series. The Tigers are also 5-1 against the Blue Jays this season, but their lone loss came against Kevin Gausman, who tossed a gem against them back in May (6.0 innings, three hits, 10 Ks, one run).
- Imanaga was once a heavy favourite to win NL Rookie of the Year, but Paul Skenes as since taken up that mantle. Now, Imanaga is just trying to regain some of the magic from his first nine starts, when he had a 0.84 ERA and a .489 opponent OPS. In eight starts since, he has a 5.61 ERA and .834 opponent OPS.
- The over is 5-1 in Orioles/Rangers matchups this year. Baltimore vies for a three-game sweep today after scoring 17 combined runs in Friday and Saturday's matchups.
- After holding at least a share of the AL West lead dating back to May 12, the Mariners lost it yesterday in a defeat by the Astros. Today's series finale should have a playoff-like atmosphere, as the stakes are high and both starters (Ronel Blanco, Bryan Woo) sport sub-2.60 ERAs.
